As previously reported by Spot, the president held a meeting regarding the involvement of the banking sector in poverty reduction initiatives.

The head of state noted that banks currently have about 3,000 unused properties on their balance sheets. Selling these assets will provide financial institutions with additional resources and create jobs for up to 150,000 people.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed allowing the sale of such properties based on direct contracts at market value. A system will be established to create businesses from these assets that can be handed over to investors "turnkey."

Measures will be taken to simplify the collection of collateral on loans. This includes prioritizing the rights of banks, shortening collection timelines, optimizing legal expenses, and expanding the practice of pre-trial collections.

Relevant amendments will be made to the legislation after thorough consideration. It has also been instructed to establish an online data exchange regarding property subject to collection among interested parties.

The president approved the proposal to implement "mahalla bankers." They will explore entrepreneurial opportunities locally, collaboratively create business plans with citizens, and assist in securing loans, launching businesses, and marketing products.

District bank branches will be tasked with working individually with entrepreneurs to address their issues, including through four specific approaches. Hokims will be required to provide land and infrastructure for projects.

Earlier, Spot reported that mahalla elders would assist low-income families in renting equipment for microbusinesses.
