Used cars are becoming cheaper in Uzbekistan, according to research findings from IMRI.

Analysis revealed that the prices for high-mileage Lacetti vehicles dropped by 1.5% compared to September, for Damas by 6.3%, and for Labo by 2%. Similarly, the cost of low-mileage cars decreased: Lacetti by 0.3%, Damas by 0.6%, and Labo by 3.5%. Conversely, the Spark with high mileage increased in price by 2.2%, and the low-mileage version rose by 2.9%.

Price breakdown:

• Lacetti: low mileage — $15,236 ($15,452 in September), high mileage — $13,300 ($13,500);
• Damas: low mileage — $8,250 ($8,300), high mileage — $7,500 ($8,000);
• Spark: low mileage — $10,500 ($10,200), high mileage — $9,200 ($9,000).

Significant changes affected the Equinox crossover: in October, the prices for models with low and medium mileage decreased by 1.5% and 6.3% respectively, while vehicles with high mileage increased by 1.9%. The Malibu and Tracker maintained stable prices, with mileage having a greater impact on their value than the year of manufacture.

Average prices for Equinox:

• Low mileage — $33,000 ($33,500);
• Medium mileage — $30,000 ($32,000);
• High mileage — $27,000 ($26,500).

  Electric vehicles also saw a price decrease. The average price for a high-mileage BYD Han fell by 10.2%, by 2.6% for medium mileage, and new models dropped in price by 2.2%. The BYD Song Plus EV Champion with mileage became cheaper by 7.5%, while the new model decreased by 1.2%.

Average prices for electric vehicles:

• BYD Han: high mileage — $31,450 ($35,000), medium mileage — $37,000 ($38,000);
• BYD Song Plus EV Champion: medium mileage — $27,500 ($29,750), new — $29,000 ($29,350).

For the analysis, data was categorized based on mileage and year of manufacture: vehicles from 2023–2024 with mileage up to 20,000 km were classified as low mileage cars, mileage of 20,000–50,000 km for 2023–2024 vehicles and up to 40,000 km for 2021–2022 vehicles was considered medium, while mileage over 50,000 km for 2023–2024 vehicles, over 40,000 km for 2021–2022 vehicles, and all vehicles from 2020 were regarded as high mileage cars. As noted by the IMRI experts, the data source was based on listings from olx.uz, collected using web scraping.
