As a result of the explosion that occurred on December 17 at a multi-fuel filling station in Fergana, which claimed the lives of four people, the local administration has ordered thorough inspections of all gas stations in the region. By decree of the region's khokim, every station will be inspected to ensure compliance with current standards of industrial, fire, and environmental safety.
A special commission has been established to implement this initiative, comprising inspectors from the regional office of "Uzdavneftegazinspektsiya," employees of the Main Department for Emergency Situations (GUMCHS) of the region, representatives from "Khududgaz Fargona," and other specialized organizations.
During the inspections, experts will assess the technical condition of auto gas filling compressor stations (AGZKS), auto gas filling stations (AGZS), and gasoline filling stations. Special attention will be paid to the condition of fuel tanks and compliance with all safety requirements stipulated by law.
The press service of the regional khokimiyat assured that the inspections will take place without halting the operations of the gas stations and will not affect their commercial activities. Filling stations will continue their regular operations, ensuring a continuous fuel supply.
In addition to inspections, mandatory training will be organized for the staff of all filling stations, gas compressor stations, and gas filling stations in the region based on a specialized program at the training center of the regional GUMCHS. This measure will apply to all enterprises, regardless of their organizational and legal form, and aims to enhance employee qualifications and prevent similar incidents.
The authorities are making every effort to minimize potential risks and ensure maximum safety for both gas station workers and all residents of the region. The investigation into the causes of the explosion on December 17 is ongoing, and the results will be reported later.
