The President of Uzbekistan has approved a strategy for the development of artificial intelligence through 2030.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Justice, the document outlines several objectives that must be achieved in the development of AI technologies by 2030. In particular, by this deadline, Uzbekistan aims to be among the top 50 countries in the Government AI Readiness Index.

Additionally, it is necessary to increase the volume of software products and services developed based on AI to $1.5 billion. The number of scientific laboratories working in the field of artificial intelligence should also rise to ten.

It is also anticipated that the share of AI-based services provided on the Unified Portal of Interactive State Services my.gov.uz will increase to 10%.

By September 2025, a Big Data database will be established in the country to provide necessary information for projects and scientific-practical research, ensuring compliance with information security measures.

Furthermore, by May 1, 2026, computational resources for data processing will be launched as part of projects aimed at implementing artificial intelligence technologies.

It is worth noting that during the meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council held in October, Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to his colleagues to hold the next conference of leading analytical centers of the Commonwealth in Samarkand, dedicating it to AI development issues.
